Too big for a status. Too great to just stay on my service notes

I’ve got to give ya’ll what Pastor Clayton King of Newspring Church gave us this morning.

1. We want to understand our weakness (or weaknesses), but God wants to unleash it.

2. Want to fix the problem (the weakness), but God wants to form the person (us).

3. We want to control (people, places and circumstances where our weaknesses show up), God wants to create (clean hearts, growth, renewed minds).

We want an exemption (a cop-out, way-out, and fix-it to our issues), God gives us a companion. HE gives us his presence, his strength and his grace while we go through, come out, and go in. Our blessings from God doesn’t always come in the form of success, good things, winning, human favor, everything that we usually celebrate, brag, tweet, and share on Facebook about! Some of those blessings come when we feel like a big beefy #2. As Pastor King said (and I’ve found to be VERY true in my journey – even though I’ve often felt the otherwise),” in seasons of intense pain we sense his (God’s) intimate presence, and He’s doing a work in you that will only happen in your weakness.”

My NV2 family, we discussed this Thurday night, but we always need this reminder from 2 Corinthians 12:9,

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

Our focal verses this morning:

2 Corinthians 12:1-10

John 15:1-2

Psalm 51:10-12

Rejoice in your anguish, pain, weakness, trials, etc whatever it may be. Don’t play it safe and fake it with others either. Show others how perfect God’s power is in you.
